Ameen Jauhar is a senior resident fellow at the Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy, and leads its Applied Law & Tech Research (ALTR) team. Ameen heads the team’s multiple national and international engagements with governmental ministries, the Supreme Court of India, NITI Aayog, and UNESCO. His work focuses primarily on data governance and AI regulation, with specific issues on the regulation of facial recognition systems, establishing consent-based data management frameworks, the responsible adoption of AI systems by courts in India, and making AI systems more human-centric.
Ameen holds a B.A.LL.B (hons.) from NUJS, Kolkata, and a MSc. in social policy (Distinction grade) from University College London.
